What Clients Say

I just wanted to thank you for all your help. I really feel like I’m getting better and starting to become the person who I really am.
Julie, London
I appreciated the flexible approach to therapy which was tailored to my needs. Richard was good at remembering what I had said in previous sessions. I found his questions intelligent and thought-provoking!
Rob, Guildford
I found the whole experience incredibly useful and I feel I’ve moved on massively in a relatively short space of time. I feel like a different person to how I felt when I walked into therapy! The main thing for me was being equipped with the tools to deal with anxiety and realise that I can deal with it! I would thoroughly recommend it.
Nicola, Teddington

Stress management explained

Stress can be described as a response to the demands and trials of everyday life that manifests as both thoughts and feelings. Stress can be built up from smaller issues daily or by a sudden change to your environment such as marital difficulties or bereavement.
Stress management can be defined as the therapies implemented to help a person control their level of stress in the hope of increasing everyday well-being. It is up to the therapist to evaluate the stress levels of a patient and advise accordingly to what therapies would best suit their needs. Stress in small amounts infrequently is easy for people to cope with. However, whenever a situation or stimulus that causes stress is left for too long, it can overwhelm the person and cause them to feel physical and emotional distress.
Most commonly, cognitive behavioural therapy is employed to help the patient change a negative way of thinking into something more positive, although there are many other stress management techniques that therapists can use.
How stress management can help you:

  • The vast amount of techniques available to offer patients of stress management allow us to provide unique, personalized programmes to get you the results you deserve.
  • Not only will it help to clear your current stress issues, it will help you to handle any future problems with a lot more positivity.
  • You may learn to recognise your personal stress triggers and how to avoid/deal with them in the future.

Our approach to helping you manage stress

Our approach to stress management contains a mix of holistic therapies that aim to treat the underlying issue rather than a symptom. With stress management, it is important that the client realises that there are coping strategies and stress management techniques to improve well-being.

Regarding stress counselling, each person will have different levels of stress and different feelings about stress, but there will be different stress management guidelines and solutions that can be put in place for each client. We are flexible and will recommend changes to any agreed programme if we think that it would be beneficial.

Depending on the situation, we would usually recommend either cognitive behavioural therapy or hypnotherapy as treatment for stress.
