Smokers are under increasing pressure to quit. Now that smoking in public places has been banned, smokers have been ostracised in the workplace and in many social situations and are required to smoke outside, often alone.
This is not necessarily enough for a smoke to want to give up. As with other addictions, smokers can only be helped to stop smoking if they feel their smoking is a problem and they want to give it up.
Hypnotherapy is a particularly effective form of treatment, often for the long term.
